Carriage Driving Instruction Carriage Driving is one of the fastest growing sports. It is great fun. Come and try your hand at it with Champion the Wonder Horse, a steady but responsive schoolmaster and Felicity Singleton, tutor. If you decide to it up seriously it is good to find out how to do it safely and have a series of lessons covering practical driving and the theory behind it to get you started.
Regular private lessons. These sesions are at least one and a half hours for those who want to learn to drive.

Introduction to Carriage Driving
This course is a minimum of four hours covering theory, rein handling and practical driving a single turnout. £100 You can add on further practical tuition the next day to complete the weekend.
Introduction to Pairs Driving
This course is a minimum of 3 hours and requires people to be competent whips of a single turnout. £100
Week's Carriage Driving Holiday
Why not try a week of carriage driving? This course is for beginners. It
covers an intensive theory and practical session all day Saturday followed
by practical driving sessions on Sunday to Thursday mornings. This will give
you a good grounding in carriage driving to start your career. Afternoons
are for free time in the area. Sailing, hawking, trail bike riding can all
be arranged locally. Accommodation is provided in our self catering cottage at the current weekly rate and the tuition is £250 in
addition. Fridays are change over days. Other local accommodation can be
found if our cottage is booked.
Carriage Driving Theory Learn about Carriage Driving before you start
A series of six sessions at only £10 per session are held periodically.
Topics covered will include harness and harnessing up, putting to and taking
out safely, vehicles, ancient and modern, two and four wheelers, rein
handling techniques and practise, use of whip and whip signals, impulsion ,
bits, turnout and showing.
