We are situated 7 miles from the market town of Llanidloes and just 2 miles from the village of Trefeglwys which has a pub and very well stocked community run shop/post office/internet cafe which is open 7 days a week.
This is a wonderful relaxing space, with beams and wooden floors and original stone walls inside and out. Amazing views, lovely walks. We keep hens and grow our own vegetables, so both eggs and veggies are usually available to buy.
You can walk through our beautiful woodland area and have exclusive use of a small sunny deck within an informal garden area with breathtaking views across the valley.
We live in the adjoining barn and are on hand to welcome all our guests personally and are available to give information about the local area and what is good to go and see. There is plenty to do within half an hour including, fishing, swimming, art galleries, sailing, biking, walking, clay shooting, forestry walks, quad biking, horse riding, museums, local market and specialist shops. The coast is less than an hour away.
You will need a car to get to Gribyn Cottage. There is a train station in Caersws which is 7 miles away with trains running every couple of hours.
We love it here and hope you will enjoy coming to visit us!
SatNav will certainly help. The postcode is SY175RH, but if you are more of a traditionalist directions are as follow. From Shrewsbury or Oswestry aim for Welshpool. Follow the A483 to Newtown and then the A489, turning left before the level crossing on to the A470 in Caersws. Then turn left onto the B4569 to Trefeglwys. Just past the Red Lion Pub in Trefeglwys, turn right to Llawr y Glyn and Staylittle (if you pass the shop you have gone too far).
Follow this road for about 3 miles and you will reach Llawr y Glyn. In the middle of the village turn right and then keep left past the Old School up a steep hill. Shortly you will see Gribyn up to your left. Take the next left (quite sharp) and follow the higher track into our gravelled yard. The cottage is at the nearest end of the long building. Turn left and park beside the blue door.
