Formed in 1975, Llanidloes Rugby Club continues to go from strength to strength. From a borrowed field for our first fixtures, the club now owns and runs purpose built facilities at our Cae Hafren Stadium, where there are now five pitches, two of them floodlit, together with changing rooms and a new spectator stand.
As well as hosting our own activities, major regional rugby tournaments and visits by Welsh International squads and the Llanelli Scarlets, Cae Hafren is available for hire by organisations seeking to put on their own events; in the past the ground has hosted national motor cycling events, community fundraising events such as car boot sales, duck races, etc. and marquee functions during the summer, to name but a few.
Our club house, where the main social side of the Rugby Club takes place, is located in the heart of Llanidloes. The club house features a large entertainment space for the numerous dinners and functions that we host throughout the year, while there is also an independent well equipped gymnasium open most evenings from 4 to 9pm and occasional mornings. Details available on 07967 305403.
Like Cae Hafren, the clubhouse is available to hire for independent functions. For details on booking both facilities, please contact the steward on 01686 440282.
The Llanidloes Rugby Club currently has a number of teams representing the town, at all different levels and age groups. If you would like to find out more about the current positions of the teams and the dates of current fixtures, or if you would like to get involved in either the playing, coaching or social side of this thriving Llanidloes institution, please visit our website.
