1. There are many timber-framed buildings within a short stroll of the Celebration of Timber-framed Buildings Exhibition set up in the Old Market Hall. Some are plain to see, but others are harder to distinguish at first or even second glance, concealing their true age and timber-framing behind later frontages. Earthlight Crystals, standing in China Street, is one of Llanidloes' most thoroughly disguised timber-framed buildings, almost totally concealed by a brick shop frontage. But behind this is the ancient timbered "Quaker's House", containing a secret hideout cupboard.
