The Mount is a delightful 14th century black and white half beamed coaching inn originally built on the site of a Motte & Bailey castle. Our business consists of a pub, restaurant and bed & breakfast, car park and pub garden and patio.
The pub area has some interesting carvings in both slate and wood, with the snug area featuring a mosaic cobble floor and an inglenook complete with a Victorian cast iron cooking range which we light on cold winter days. We also have a games room where you can play pool, dominoes and darts whilst listening to the jukebox or watching the television. This room is quite often used for small private meetings.
Our Chef’s serve quality home cooked meals from 11am until 2pm and from 6.30pm until 9.30pm in our oak beamed dining room or on the patio, which has excellent views of the surrounding hillside. There is a large child friendly rear garden containing play equipment, Nana’s playhouse and picnic tables. This backs onto our recently built accommodation block containing six rooms. The new building has 3 ground floor rooms one of which has disabled facilities. All nine of our rooms are en-suite and have television and tea and coffee making facilities.
There is ample free parking available and we provide locked storage for cycles on request. Our establishment has three star rating with Wales Tourist Board and the AA. We are situated in the charming market town of Llanidloes on the banks of the River Severn and on the route of the wonderful Severn way and Glyndwr’s Way. This is an ideal centre for ramblers, cyclists and anglers and is a short journey through beautiful scenic hills and valleys to the seaside. Llanidloes is the nearest town to the source of the Severn and many well known celebrities have stayed at the Mount whilst filming locally.
Should you wish to stay with us we accept cash, cheques with bankers card and most popular credit cards. All rooms can be reserved with a £20 deposit.
