The Mount is a 14th century black and white half beamed coaching inn built on the site of a motte & bailey castle in Llanidloes, which is a charming old market town on the River Severn. We are also on the routes of the wonderful Severn Way and Glyndwr’s Way.
This is an ideal centre for ramblers, cyclists and anglers and is a short journey through beautiful hills and valleys to the seaside. Llanidloes is the nearest town to the source of the river Severn and many well known celebrities have stayed at the Mount whilst filming such television programmes as Country File.
There is bed and breakfast accommodation available for up to 24 persons. In the main building there is a public bar, snug, games room and dining room. Outside there is a sun terrace and a large car park. There are some interesting carvings on both slate and wood in the bar and dining room. The ‘snug’ features a mosaic cobble floor and an inglenook with a Victorian cast iron cooking range and an open fire in the Winter.
