Tucked away on the tranquil slopes of the Clywedog valley in rural mid-Wales, a warm welcome awaits you at Rock Villa B&B. Less than a mile from Glyndwr's Way and close to the Number 8 National Cycle trail, Lake Clywedog, Hafren Forest and the Severn Source, our friendly B&B makes an excellent base for walkers, anglers, cyclists, or simply those who love the great outdoors.
Accommodation
The Chapel Room (double), with its low ceilings and beams, stone walls and dark wood, is the oldest and most romantic part of the house, dating back to 1768. The Hill Room (double) is a sunny room, with views of our neighbours - a flock of sheep! The Clywedog Room (twin/triple/family room, en-suite) has far-reaching views of the Cambrian mountains, the Clywedog valley, and some spectacular sunsets. Prices start from £25 pppn for two sharing (including breakfast). Please contact us for more details; discounts are available for walkers, for longer stays and out of season.
Facilities
In the evening guests have the use of the snug, a cosy breakfast room, where you can relax beside the wood-burning stove. There is no television at Rock Villa, but with the splendid views and lively birdsong, we don't think you'll miss it. Your hosts are keen walkers and can provide you with maps and information, and ideas on local things to do. Secure bike storage is available. With the stove, the thick stone walls and Cambrian views, Rock Villa also makes a cosy, romantic winter getaway!
Food
For breakfast, choose a full Welsh, or cereals, toast, porridge etc. We also offer a hearty two- or three-course farmhouse dinner (24 hours notice needed), and can provide you with a packed lunch. We have a large vegetable garden, and will always use our own ingredients or the best locally available produce. Alternatively, if your legs are weary, we can drive you to the local pub. The village store also sells a good range of basics and is just a short walk away.
Dinner £13 /£15 two/three courses.
Packed Lunch £5.
