Llanidloes sits just off the A470 main road about 30 miles from the English border. From Birmingham and the Midlands, take the M54 through Telford, A458 and A483 through Shrewsbury, Welshpool and Newtown. From the south, the A470 offers a spectacular cross-country route from Cardiff.
Llanidloes is well served by bus services to the coast at Aberystwyth, to Newtown, Welshpool and Shrewsbury and to Rhayader and to Llandrindod Wells. The National Express shuttle also operates through Llanidloes for services to Birmingham and the National Express UK network to the rest of the U.K. and Europe
Caersws is the nearest train station to Llanidloes at a distance of 10 kilometres. Bus or taxi ride to Llanidloes. Caersws to London is typically 3.5 to 4 hours. If travelling at the weekend, phone National Train Enquiries on 08457 484950 (+44 8457 484950 outside UK) to check on engineering works which delay journeys. Travel on Sunday is much longer and there are no buses so is not recommended.
