Open Day: 20th January 10am - 10pm
Venue: The Crown and Anchor
The Crown and Anchor Pub in Llanidloes has been at the centre of the town's life for over 200 years. Many people remember having their first drink there under the watchful eye of Ruby Holmes, the long-time landlady. Upon changing hands, the pub became well known for its music and seemed to have a new lease of life. Then the Covid-19 pandemic and financial crisis hit forcing the pub to close just before Christmas 2022.
A community group called the Crown and Anchor Regeneration Project (CARP) has been formed to explore the feasibility of buying the building, running a community owned pub and providing space for other community activity.
To attract funding for this ambitious project we need your backing and ideas. This survey will help us gather this information. Please be as honest and realistic as possible in your answers!
This is also a chance for you to let us know if you could help in any way with the running of the Crown and Anchor. There will be a wide range of tasks to be done from the initial setting up of the project to managing the enterprise and being involved in the day to day practical operation.
The survey is anonymous unless you choose to leave your contact details. The replies will be seen by CARP members, representatives from Llani Ltd, PAVO and a freelance facilitator, Liz Bickerton. The information given will be used solely for the pursuit of the CARP initiative. The results of this survey will be published and presented to a public meeting when the proposal can be discussed further.
