Walking, Cycling & Arts
Walking
There are over thirty separate routes around the town, clearly way marked and signposted. They link Llanidloes with the smaller surrounding villages of Llangurig, Llandinam and Trefeglwys, and range from just a few miles to a good day's walk. The national trails of Glyndwr's Way and the Severn Way also pass through Llanidloes, fantastic opportunities to enjoy the countryside.
Cycling
The Sustrans routes 8 and 81 (Lon Cambria) both pass through Llanidloes. Many of the roads and tracks around the town are ideal for cyclists.
Midwales Arts Events
The Mid Wales Arts Centre features a large gallery and a sculpture park. Courses are run by professional artists in a supportive and friendly environment. Surrounded by the beautiful scenery of Mid Wales, with fishing, tennis and golf within a few minutes' walk, it's the perfect place to unwind.
Sports
On Llyn Clywedog & beyond
Fishing on Llyn Clywedog

Llyn Clywedog Trout Fishery is run by the local club, Llanidloes and District AA, with all proceeds put straight back into the fishery. Their farm gives the club the opportunity to save on costs, enabling them to stock around 35,000 fish of the highest quality into the lake at a very reasonable cost to the angler, confirming Clywedog as one of the premier trout fisheries in the UK.
Sailing on Llyn Clywedog

Clywedog Sailing and Canoe Club is located in the heart of the Mid Wales countryside, on a lake created in 1967 by the construction of the Clywedog Dam. An RYA affiliated club and RYA Sailability recognised, with a well equipped club house and disabled access. The canoe section meets weekly and organises many away trips. The club is recognised as the best Disability Centre in Wales, with full disabled access to the water via a hoist and a wheelchair accessible jetty.
Golf

St. Idloes Golf Club was founded in 1897 on its present site, then the local race course and cricket practice ground. The club has always drawn its membership from local people, with a wonderfully friendly atmosphere extended without reservation to visitors.
Shooting

Mid Wales Shooting at Trefeglwys is a well established, family run clay target shooting centre, set in over 300 acres of some of the finest countryside the British Isles has to offer. One of the premier clay target facilities in the UK, catering for everyone from beginner to international, with 16 trap layouts (6 undercover), 4 skeet layouts, compact sporting, ABT and 12 sporting stands.
