About the Carnival
Llanidloes Carnival has long been a traditional fixture on the summer calendar of the town. Initially started to raise money for Llanidloes hospital in 1932, this is a wonderful community event that everyone can take part in.
Our Queen and her attendants are elected through a public vote, and are the centre piece of a fantastic parade through the town, proudly led by Llanidloes Silver Band. The procession is a chance for people to exercise their creative talents, and every year there's a brilliant and very varied display of costumes, floats and lorries. Visiting Queens from other carnivals in the area are always welcome.
The parade culminates at Kennel Fields at 12.30 for the judging, and the afternoon continues with events, games and competitions on the field and at KVM Park, Llanidloes FC's ground. A real family and community event, the carnival is a great celebration of life in Llanidloes.
