By Road
Llanidloes sits just off the A470 main road, about 30 miles from the English border. From Birmingham and the Midlands, take the M54 through Telford, then the A458 and A483 through Shrewsbury, Welshpool and Newtown. From the south, the A470 offers a spectacular cross country route from Cardiff.

Parking
Free parking is available at "The Gro", a large car park with space for around 100 vehicles, which is technically common land, so livestock grazing is also permitted. Directions on Google Maps.
A smaller free car park is at Church Place, with space for around 20 vehicles. Directions on Google Maps.
On-street parking is also available throughout town, but please be aware of tickets and wardens, and check the restrictions on the signs by the road.
By Bus
Llanidloes is well served by bus services to the coast at Aberystwyth, to Newtown, Welshpool and Shrewsbury, and to Rhayader and Llandrindod. The National Express shuttle also operates through Llanidloes for services to Birmingham and the wider National Express UK network.

By Train
Caersws is the nearest train station to Llanidloes, 6 miles away. For onward travel, check the bus times from Caersws to Llanidloes. Caersws to London is typically 3.5 to 4 hours. If travelling at the weekend, it's worth phoning National Rail Enquiries to check for engineering works which may delay journeys. Travel on Sundays is much longer, and there are no connecting buses, so isn't recommended.
